The Minnesota Vikings hit some homeruns last offseason, and it propelled them to a 14-3 season. While they contended for the NFC North, they came up short and then exited the playoffs earlier than expected.
A strong 2024 season now has the Vikings setup for higher expectations in 2025 than they could have thought.
ESPN published their way-too-early power rankings for 2025, and the Vikings are debuting. Despite their ranking of 10th overall, Kevin Seifert of ESPN writes about what they need to do this offseason.
“The Vikings’ poor draft performance over the past few seasons has left them with few internal options as they evaluate a roster with nearly two dozen pending free agents. And with a projected four picks in the 2025 draft, general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will dip heavily into the market to fill his roster.”
What is shocking from the power rankings is seeing the Lions and Packers ahead of them. The Lions come in at three, which could be expected. The Packers being ranked seventh is the shocking part.
Just adds another chip to the shoulder of a Vikings team already trying to prove themselves.
