Following Josh Metellus’ interception against Kirk Cousin and Atlanta on Sunday, the Vikings’ safety duo Cam Bynum and Metellus did an insane dance in the end zone.
The duo imitated the White Girls movie. Bynum talked to Tom Pelissero about how the two had this planned but hadn’t uncorked it until Sunday.
“We watched it a million times. The mental reps is everything. Just like watching film. You watch it, then it’s ‘all right, Josh, we gotta master it.’ Took 30 minutes one day, just to master it. Now it’s locked in. Now we know. So before every game we walk through it. But we have to do it real subtly. We don’t want anybody else to see it. We’ve got to just work our steps and talk through it, ‘this and this next, do this, all right, now we’re done, turn up.’ We did one day of like a 30-minute rehearsal, like grinding.
Metellus and Bynum have been having fun with turnover dances all year long, and Sunday was just the latest example. The previous one of Lindsay Lohan’s Parent Trap handshake was noticed by the star and late-night television.
Perhaps this is the next viral turnover celebration for the duo.
