If you thought the Vikings were done overhauling their roster, think again.
Moments ago, the Vikings officially waived cornerback Cameron Dantzler. This move will create just over $2.7 million in cap space.
Dantzler, a former third-round draft pick out of Mississippi State, has appeared in 35 games for the Vikings since 2020.
During the 2022 season, Dantzler had 50 combined tackles, five passes defended and a forced fumble.
Dantzler isn’t the only notable player the Vikings released this week. In fact, the team parted ways with veteran wideout Adam Thielen just a few hours ago.
The Vikings have already released veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks ahead of the new league year as well.
It’s certainly possible Minnesota makes another big move before free agency begins. Pass rusher Za’Darius Smith reportedly informed the Vikings that he wants to be released.
Suffice to say, the Vikings will have a new-look roster this fall.
