A few changes from yesterday
The Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams issued their second injury report before their Thursday night matchup. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Blake Cashman, Toe, DNP (did not practice)
- CB Akayleb Evans, Hip, LP (limited practice)
- TE T.J. Hockenson, knee, LP
- RB Aaron Jones, Hamstring, LP
- OLB Patrick Jones, Shoulder, FP (full participant)
- TE Josh Oliver, Wrist, FP
- DT Harrison Phillips, Shoulder, FP
- S Theo Jackson, Hand, FP
- G Dalton Risner, Back, FP
Three upgrades were made to the Vikings’ estimated report yesterday. Patrick Jones II, Josh Oliver and Harrison Phillips were all full participants in practice Tuesday, indicating they are very likely to play on Thursday night.
Additionally, while limited, Aaron Jones said he is no longer dealing with any issues due to his hamstring, so he is also likely to play on Thursday.
T. J. Hockenson continues to be limited, although all reports indicate he’s been fully healed from his ACL injury for at least a week or two. It would seem more likely that he plays on Thursday night, but the Vikings limit his snap count. We’ll see if he is a full participant in practice tomorrow.
But at this point, Blake Cashman is the only one I’d expect not to play on Thursday.
Los Angeles Rams
- ILB Troy Reeder, Hamstring, DNP
- DE Braden Fiske, Back, DNP
- WR Jordan Whittington, Shoulder, LP
- NT Neville Gallimore, Shoulder, LP
- WR Cooper Kupp, Ankle, FP
- OL Joe Noteboom, Ankle, FP
- WR Puka Nacua, Knee, LP
There have been a few developments on the Rams’ injury list. First, Whittington and Gallimore were upgraded to limited from DNP yesterday in today’s walk-through practice.
Additionally, Puka Nacua was added to the injury report as the Rams opened his return from the IR window. While limited, it’s unlikely Nacua will play on Thursday night.
Another development related to Cooper Kupp. While it looks like Kupp is healthy and will play on Thursday, he has also been the subject of legitimate trade talks, with Dianna Russini of The Athletic reporting that the Rams are shopping the veteran wideout.
The Rams have called multiple teams about trading former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp sources tell @mikesilver, @jourdanrodrigue, and me.
The Rams have indicated a willingness to take on some of the ‘24 salary and are seeking a 2nd round pick.— Dianna Russini (@DMRussini) October 22, 2024
The issue with Kupp is that if the Rams are actively looking to trade him before the trade deadline, will they risk injury — which would derail any potential trade — by playing him?
Outside of that, it looks like the Rams will be down two defensive starters in Fiske and Reeder on Thursday night, as both were listed as DNP again today.
Stay tuned.
