The Vikings’ young Edge rusher, Dallas Turner, told reporters on Thursday that he would not be playing against the Texans this week but hopes to return in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers.
Turner was seen wearing a knee brace and is currently rehabbing from a knee injury. Turner told reporters it wasn’t anything serious but mostly scary due to his past in high school with a knee injury.
Minnesota traded up to draft the former Alabama star in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Vikings used draft capital to acquire and pair him with Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel.
While those three have played good football, it’s been Pat Jones II who’s really shined from all the Edge rushers. Jones II will have another key role this weekend since Turner will miss at least one week.
In two games, Turner has five tackles and one sack. Many analysts believe he could win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, but hopefully, he can stay healthy to prove to people the type of player he is.
