Here are our favorite tweets from the first edition of the Border Battle in 2024
It’s game day! Not only that, but it’s the first big rivalry matchup of the season as your Minnesota Vikings are in the belly of the beat in Green Bay to take on the Packers.
This is the first edition of what will become a weekly feature entitled “Gameday’s Best Tweets.”
It’s….pretty much what it says it is. As we watch/monitor the game, we’ll update this thread with the best/funniest/most informative tweets we see all afternoon.
As its updated, the older tweets will be pushed further down the screen, so you can check back all game long to see the newest/best #content we find on the tweets.

Let’s talk about unheralded heroes so far this season — how about KAMU GRUGIER-HILL?
.@k_grugierhill joins Eric Kendricks (2x), Chad Greenway (2x) and E.J. Henderson as the only Vikings LBs to have interceptions in consecutive games since 2000.#MINvsGB https://t.co/XaG13EDrlc

Good Lawd, Jordan Addison.

Huh, wonder if anyone mentioned this on the highly-rated Daily Norseman website this week? Hmmmmmm.
It would appear that noted coaching supergenius Matt LaFleur may have brought Jordan Love back too quickly.

As the Vikings reach the end zone for the second time in the game, we have this almost simultaneously. Nature is healing, friends.
Kirk Cousins picked off by Paulson Adebo while throwing under pressure. If Atlanta defense doesn’t have a better drive here things might start getting squirrelly. Saints starting at their 47.

I’ll admit — I laughed. Kind of a lot, actually.

Here’s one you haven’t seen — Stefon Diggs just scored his first rushing touchdown in the NFL:

Even though Jalen Nailor has been balling, it’s so good to have Addison back, too.
It marks the 11th career touchdown for WR Jordan Addison and his first of the season.
Addison ties WRs Nate Burleson and Percy Harvin for the fifth most by a player in his first two seasons in team history (since 1970).#MINvsGB https://t.co/z9PogrxIpN

Oof. Tough look for the Narv Dog. Imagine if this had been Greg Joseph, who very nearly made the Packers as their Week 1 kicker:
Packers get some chunks on their opening drive but have to settle for a field goal attempt — and Narveson doinks it from 37. That’s two straight weeks with a kicker missing against the Vikings, which feels odd.
Still 7-0 Minnesota

Would you consider Greg Jennings an impartial observer? (Someone please teach this man how to do a Twitter poll)
Who you got: #Vikings or #Packers?

Think J.A.’s ankle is feeling good?
Jordan Addison is a dude. The Vikings’ offense is almost back to full strength. pic.twitter.com/qWug6H18gu

How’s this for some context of how good/dominant the Vikings have been so far this season?
The Vikings trailed for 3.5 minutes in the first quarter of Week 1 at the Giants. They haven’t trailed since.

Hey Darnold! Yes, I am using my own tweet here — but I promise to do so sparingly.
Imagine reading this tweet to someone two or three years ago https://t.co/bnvc8lucU0

Here’s a fun one — in case you didn’t realize, Stephon Gilmore has now played at least one game in every single active NFL stadium!
In case you missed it, Stephon Gilmore is crossing off his final NFL stadium today with Lambeau Field.
Sam Darnold, Andrew Van Ginkel, Blake Cashman and others also are prepping for their first regular-season performance at Green Bay.

The Vikings have gotten a steady diet of CBS games to start the season, and I was wondering about this since I had always assumed the NFC/Fox-AFC/CBS ties (I did not realize they were actually a formal thing).
Was thinking about this this week. This has to be the first Vikings-Packers game on CBS since Fox got the NFL in 1994, right? https://t.co/SCqLA7niwN

One of my favorite things is obscure NFL jerseys. Take a look at the ones Matthew Coller has already seen today:
Best fan jerseys below the press box: BJ Raji, Frank Winters, Dorsey Levens

So let’s get this started with the best news of the day for Vikings fans — that Packers star cornerback Jaire Alexander is INACTIVE and will not be facing off against Justin Jefferson and friends on Sunday:
Jaire Alexander is officially inactive. So the #Packers will be without their top two CBs against Justin Jefferson and the #Vikings. https://t.co/YwUm4NCbMl

Good luck and SKOL!
