The Minnesota Vikings are riding high after winning their eighth straight game on Sunday when they traveled to Seattle to face the Seahawks. It was a close game for the team, but they made enough plays in the second half to secure the win and continue their march to a potential NFC North title.
The fallout from that win continued on Tuesday when it was announced that Andrew Van Ginkel had been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Van Ginkel recorded five tackles, two tackles for a loss, and two sacks against the Seahawks as the Vikings. His two sacks added to his career-high sack total, which is now up to 11 and has him in the top five of the NFL in that category.
The team hopes his defensive playmaking continues in Week 17 against the Packers.
GINK! @AndrewVanGinkel has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
