There are plenty of rumors floating around that the Minnesota Vikings are kicking the cans on former Packer and Jets QB Aaron Rodgers. This is obviously very controversial for a few reasons amongst the Viking faithful. However, there’s also a rich history of hall of fame level play from the QB in the not too distant past that has some salivating.
Reasons Why?
- He’s one of the greatest QBs of all time and it’ hard to argue against that even if you dislike him.
- The Vikings roster is looking stacked and after winning 14 games last season, they are primed for a run right now.
- He has 20 years of experience in the NFL.
- He threw for 3,897 yards and 28 TDs on a poor Jets team last year. What could he have done with Jefferson, Addison, Hockenson and his old friend Aaron Jones.
Reasons Why Not?
- He’s old. Aaron will be 42 years old next season.
- He tore his Achilles tendon to start the 2023 season and those injuries tend to linger on 40+ year olds.
- JJ McCarthy is the future and you don’t want to delay it any more.
- Team chemistry will be upset by his arrogance and off field shenanigans might be disruptive. Between the Pat McAfee Show, the Ayahuasca psychedelic tea and the darkness retreats, the Aaron Rodgers show is a big distraction for any team to handle.
