The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs fairly easily last night. It was the worst Super Bowl in a while after a string of good games. The Eagles defense dominated the Chiefs and turned Mahomes over three times. Once the 4th quarter started, the only relevant conversation was who was going to be named the MVP. The QB is always in that discussion, but it shouldn’t be so automatic in my opinion. Who would you have named Super Bowl MVP?
Jalen Hurts
Hurts was the actual winner of the award and he had a great night. 17 for 22 for 221 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 11 carries for 72 yards and 1 Tush Push TD. Hurts played well and took advantage of the position his defense put him in. That game would not have been a blowout with his performance.
Josh Sweat
Sweat is the popular pick for Super Bowl MVP from what I’ve seen. Sweat ended up with 2 1⁄2 sacks on the night. He was in Mahomes’ face all night. The Eagles were able to get away with rushing only 4 most of the night because of the D-Line’s effectiveness. Verse was the best of the group.
Cooper DeJean
DeJean had his first career interception, he returned it for a TD, it was his birthday and it is his rookie year. Who said the NFL is tough? The former Hawkeye is gaining popularity in Philly and it was easy to see why last night.
Others
Milton Williams had a couple of sacks on the night, but Verse was better IMO.
Saquon Barkely deserves some credit for getting all of the focus from a strong Chiefs defense.
Eagles OL was superb last night. Chris Jones going down early helped, but they were clearly winning the battle already.

Shoutout to former Minnesota Vikings S Lewis Cine. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s first ever NFL pick is now a Super Bowl Champion.
