The playoffs are here!
The 2024 NFL playoffs are officially here, and Super Wild Card Weekend kicks off today with a pair of matchups on the AFC side of the bracket.
Things will get underway at 3:30 PM Central time in Houston, as is (apparently) tradition, with the Los Angeles Chargers traveling to take on the Houston Texans. The Texans are the #4 seed in the AFC as the champions of the AFC South while the Chargers are the #5 seed as the top Wild Card team in the conference in Jim Harbaugh’s first season. These two teams did not meet in the regular season.
The Chargers/Texans game will be broadcast on CBS, with Paramount+ carrying the action on the streaming side.
The nightcap for Saturday will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime (unless you’re in the Pittsburgh or Baltimore areas) with an AFC North showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore. These two teams split their regular season games against each other, with Pittsburgh winning at home in Week 11 by a score of 18-16 and the Ravens winning at home in Week 16 by a score of 34-17. These teams are also going in opposite directions, as Baltimore closed the regular season on a four-game winning streak while Pittsburgh dropped their final four contests.
Kickoff for the Steelers/Ravens game is set for 7:00 PM Central and, again, it’s exclusively on the Amazon Prime streaming service.
Here’s how we’re picking these two games, courtesy of the folks from Tallysight. As always, everyone’s numbers are probably different because they made their picks at different times, and if you want the latest on these games or any other NFL game you can check in with our friends at FanDuel.
Enjoy today’s games, everyone!
