The Minnesota Vikings had a very successful 2024 season on both sides of the ball. However, with that success comes the risk of losing coaches and coordinators as other teams look to improve in the offseason.
While the team didn’t lose either coordinator, they have lost one key assistant this offseason, and they may yet lose another.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported on Tuesday that the Saints, led by their new head coach Kellen Moore, would be requesting an interview with Vikings assistant Daronte Jones.
Jones, who is entering his 25th season coaching at some level of football, is a familiar name to Saints fans. He was the LSU defensive coordinator in 2021 and coached high school football in Louisiana before making his way to the NFL.
The Saints have yet to complete any interviews as they are looking to build up a strong list of candidates. Jones was a hot name in coaching circles, according to Fowler.
Perhaps a return to the state of Louisiana is in order for the Viking’s assistance.
