Minnesota Vikings second-year wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested in Los Angeles Friday on suspicion of DUI, according to reports.
Police found Addison, 22, asleep at the wheel near LAX shortly after 11 p.m. local time after California Highway Patrol received a call of a disabled vehicle blocking a lane on the freeway, said the Los Angeles Daily News.
Reporting officers eventually arrested Addison around 11:36 p.m. He was released two hours later.
The arrest comes nearly one year to the day after Addison was pulled over and cited for speed and reckless driving just before his first training camp with the Vikings.
“We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident,” the team said in a statement Sunday evening.
A first-round pick out of USC in 2023, Addison had a stellar rookie season for Minnesota, catching 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. He posted two games with more than 100 yards receiving and multiple touchdown receptions.
Addison is once again expected to team up with superstar Justin Jefferson to give the Vikings a deadly 1-2 combination at wideout. All that is still left to be determined is if it will be journeyman Sam Darnold or 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy throwing them the ball when the season kicks off in September.
