The good guys are up by two scores
We’ve made it through the first quarter of play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and your Minnesota Vikings lead the New York Jets by a score of 10-0.
The Vikings won the coin toss and deferred to the second half, giving Aaron Rodgers and company the football first. Minnesota’s defense forced a three-and-out from the Jets’ offense and the Vikings took over at their own 12-yard line after the punt.
The Vikings put together a very nice drive and pushed down near the red zone, but Sam Darnold was sacked for a big loss. That caused the Vikings to call on Will Reichard for a 54-yard field goal attempt, and he put it through to give the purple an early 3-0 lead.
The Jets’ second drive went the same way as their first did: three plays and a punt. There was nearly a disaster when the ball appeared to bounce off of Brandon Powell on the return attempt with the Jets recovering the loose ball, but it was ruled that the ball hit a Jets’ player first, giving the Vikings possession.
The Vikings got a bit of a scare on the next drive as Chazz Surratt hit Sam Darnold and he stayed down for a length of time before going off the field. Nick Mullens came in for one play and hit Aaron Jones for 23 yards before Darnold came back in. On the next play, however, Darnold attempted to pitch one to Ty Chandler, who had it bounce off his hands and into the arms of Jets linebacker Quincy Williams for the first turnover of the game, setting the Jets up in Minnesota territory.
Then, the Vikings got the turnover back in a big way, as Andrew Van Ginkel dropped back into coverage and Aaron Rodgers never saw him, as he picked off the pass and took it back for a 63-yard touchdown!

Then, on the Jets’ next drive, Rodgers turned it over again as he overthrew his receiver and put it right into the hands of Camryn Bynum for his second interception in as many drives.
