The good guys still have a three-score lead
Get those fours up, everybody, because we’re heading to the final quarter of action in Green Bay with your Minnesota Vikings leading the Green Bay Packers by a score of 28-7.
The Packers went three-and-out to start the half, with the Vikings challenging what had been ruled a first down catch. That’s Kevin O’Connell’s second successful challenge of the day so he’ll get a third one if he wants it.
The Vikings then pushed into the Green Bay red zone and Sam Darnold made one of the few mistakes he’s made today, as a pass intended for Aaron Jones near the goal line was intercepted by Xavier McKinney at the Green Bay 2-yard line. The Vikings could have put it away with that score but instead the ball went back to the home team.
Minnesota’s defense then forced a second straight three-and-out and Brandon Powell. . .back in on punt returns. . .took the ball to near midfield to start the next drive. The Vikings then punted again, and the Packers pushed the ball to a 4th-and-8 from the Minnesota 32-yard line. Jordan Love attempted a pass to the end zone, but it was broken up by Shaq Griffin for another turnover on downs.
Unfortunately, the Vikings couldn’t do anything with it as Ty Chandler was stopped short on third down, forcing another punt. As we move to the fourth quarter of play, the Packers are looking at 2nd-and-2 from their own 31-yard line.
A scoreless third quarter from Green Bay, folks, and that means the good guys are still up 28-7 heading into the final fifteen minutes. Can the Vikings hang on and move to 4-0? Come join us and find out!
