J.J. McCarthy had his dreams come true during the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday.
He was picked 10th overall by the Minnesota Vikings and is set to be the team’s new starting quarterback after Kirk Cousins left for the Atlanta Falcons.
Everything in McCarthy’s camp is fired up for him to be a Viking, including his fiancee, Katya Kuropas. She posted a picture of them together with the word “Home” on her Instagram story.
They got engaged in January after dating for several years and appear to be going really strong. She would always come to his games while he played at Michigan and has been one of his biggest supporters.
The Vikings are hoping he can live up to the hype after he helped lead Michigan to a national title this past season. He finished with 2.991 yards through the air, 22 touchdowns, and only four interceptions.
He’ll get to work with a Vikings team that will try and get back to the playoffs this season. He’ll also get the chance to throw to Justin Jefferson on a weekly basis starting in September.
