The Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts released their Thursday injury reports ahead of their Sunday night matchup. Here they are:
Note: DNP= Did not practice, LP= Limited participant, FP= Full participant
Minnesota Vikings
- LB Blake Cashman, Toe, DNP
- DT Taki Taimani, Ankle, DNP
- CB Akayleb Evans, Hip, FP
- TE T.J. Hockenson, Knee, FP
- S Theo Jackson, Hand, FP
- TE Josh Oliver, Wrist, FP
- T David Quessenberry, Knee, FP
- G Dalton Risner, Back, FP
Blake Cashman did not practice again today, putting his availability for Sunday night in doubt. The plan had been for him to do some stuff off to the side during practice and then see if he is able to participate with the rest of the team in practice. So far that hasn’t happened apparently. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
Taki Taimani was also downgraded from limited to DNP today, so apparently his ankle is giving him more trouble. His status tomorrow should provide more insight into whether he’ll be active on Sunday or not.
Everybody else was a full participant and presumably will play on Sunday night for the Vikings.
Indianapolis Colts
- LT Bernhard Raimann, Concussion, DNP
- DE Kwity Paye, Hamstring, LP
- DE Genard Avery, Foot, FP
- WR Josh Downs, Toe, FP
- C Ryan Kelly, Calf/Knee, FP
- CB Chris Lammons, Finger, FP
- WR Michael Pittman, Back, FP
- RT Braden Smith, Knee, FP
- QB Anthony Richardson, Left wrist/shoulder, FP
The Colts have a number of starters that have been dealing with injuries for multiple weeks- WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman, and offensive linemen Ryan Kelly and Braden Smith. None of them practiced yesterday but all were full participants today, which has been how its been in previous weeks as well, when all of them played.
The Colts announced that Joe Flacco will start at quarterback Sunday night, so Anthony Richardson’s injury status is less of a concern.
The big one for the Colts is LT Bernhard Raimann. He is their starting left tackle. He experienced concussion-like symptoms in last week’s game but cleared protocol to remain in the game. However, he was placed in concussion protocol this week, and it’s unlikely he’ll clear that in time to play on Sunday night. If Raimann can’t go, it may be Blake Freeland who replaces him, looking at the Colts’ depth chart. Freeland has played a grand total of one snap since being drafted last year in the fourth round.
The final injury report for both teams will be released tomorrow and include injury designations for Sunday night’s game.
Stay tuned.
