Almost two weeks after the Super Bowl, most Minnesota Vikings fans are rooting for help along the offensive and defensive lines in mock drafts. The Philadelphia Eagles embarrassed the Kansas City Chiefs, getting after Patrick Mahomes without blitzing.
It’s hard to argue against building the trenches, but the Vikings have other holes that must be addressed. This week, Kyle Crabbs of The 33rd Team released his most recent mock draft, and he has the Vikings drafting Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron.
Listed at 5’11”, 200 pounds, Barron has good size for Brian Flores’ scheme. He was a three-year starter for the Longhorns, picking off eight passes (five in 2024) and registering 21 tackles for loss.
Crabbs explained the pick:
The Vikings are, according to a recent report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, a team that may choose to covet resigning their young safety, Cam Bynum, over one of their top corners in Byron Murphy. If they go that route, Minnesota’s long-term need at corner will be further amplified. Texas corner Jahdae Barron would be a home run pairing, as his ball production exploded this past season and he’d be playing in a scheme that lets him play with eyes on the quarterback. Best of all, Barron is a top-tier tackler and striker on the perimeter.
