And so it begins
The season is over for the Minnesota Vikings, which means it’s time to officially start looking forward to the 2025 NFL Draft.
Yay.
For being the first 14-win team in NFL history to lose in the Wild Card round. . .a distinction that they can put next to 2022’s mark of being the first 13-win team in NFL history to lose in the Wild Card round. . .the Vikings will select at #24 overall.
As we know, the Vikings currently only have three selections: their first-round pick and a pair of fifth-round selections. I don’t know what Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is going to do to change that, but it will be interesting to see it play out.
Here is the full draft order that’s already been determined. When two teams have the same record, the first tiebreaker is a team’s strength of schedule, with the team with the lower SoS being awarded the higher pick.
- Tennessee Titans (3-14, .522)
- Cleveland Browns (3-14, .536)
- New York Giants (3-14, .554)
- New England Patriots (4-13, .471)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-13, .478)
- Las Vegas Raiders (4-13, .540)

- Indianapolis Colts (8-9, .457)
- Atlanta Falcons (8-9, .519)

The rest of the slots will be determined as the playoffs work themselves out.
That’s a quick look at what’s been finalized for the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, folks. Is there anyone you’ve got your eye on this early in the process?
