Another big one in the NFC North
The final regular season home game of the 2024 NFL season for the Minnesota Vikings is upon us, and it carries some pretty big potential ramifications as they complete their home-and-home series with the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium.
These two teams met at Lambeau Field back in Week 4, where the Vikings defeated the Packers by a final score of 31-29. It wasn’t easy, as the Vikings raced out to a 28-0 lead and were ahead 28-7 at the half but had to hang on after three fourth quarter touchdowns from Green Bay.
If the Vikings win this game, their Week 18 matchup against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field will be for the NFC North division crown and the top seed in the 2024 NFL playoffs. If they should lose, there’s a good chance that the Vikings won’t be playing for anything but playoff positioning in the season’s final week unless the San Francisco 49ers find a way to upset the Lions on Monday Night Football.
Minnesota comes into this one riding an eight-game winning streak, with their last loss coming on Thursday Night Football back in Week 7. The Packers have won five of their last six, including a 34-0 pasting of New Orleans this past week on Monday Night Football.
The National Football League has made this game one of the featured matchups on Sunday afternoon, as they have moved it to a 3:25 PM Central time start and it will be the only game featured on FOX from coast-to-coast in the late Sunday window.
We’ll have all of our coverage of this week’s game right here for you, and we hope you’ll join us throughout the week and on Sunday afternoon for this huge contest.
