Witt a night. Witt a roundup.
Knocking on the door of Christmas — folks, it’s the perfect time for baseball news. After all, what else could all these general managers be doing? Hanging out with their families? Next you’ll tell me that there’s absolutely nothing going on around the world of the league, and that Rival Roundup has been reduced to tabloid-style coverage of divisional wedding receptions.
- A player often mentioned around Twinkie Town circles, fringe man Akil Baddoo cleared waivers and will spend the next chunk of his winter on the Triple-A roster.

- Huge news — nothing is guaranteed on the South Side of Chicago anymore, not even the rates at the field. Guaranteed Rate, the corporate sponsor of the White Sox ballpark, is changing their name simply to “Rate,” and as the company goes, so goes the stadium. Thankfully, the iconic downward-facing red arrow logo remains.
- In on-field news, some critical catching changes –
The Chicago White Sox have traded catcher Chuckie Robinson to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations.

- Division rival Bobby Witt Jr. got married over this weekend, which goes to show you just how much baseball-related content that front offices are generating in the week leading up to Christmas. It’s noteworthy for me only in that he elected to have a parody restaurant installation feature prominently at his own damn wedding, instead of like, a cool Halloween party or something. Nope — here comes the bride, and here comes Wittaburger.
- Uhh, Jason Kipnis graduated college?

- The Royal roster is “75% done,” according to Mr. Piccolo, the man upstairs. It makes you wonder what loading percentage the Twins’ roster is at this stage in the game.
From all of me here at Twinkie Town, have a great Christmas week and enjoy the holiday season. Hopefully, Falvey Claus will put something under our tree soon. See you on the other side!
