Rosters are shuffling already, but the faces are all too familiar.
The air is thick with the holiday spirit, and also Scott Boras. Take a nice deep breath in together and let’s all round up some rivals. After all, we’re running out of time! There’s only about three and a half months left until baseball is back on the menu!

- If ever a team was in need of not running it back, it could be the Chicago White Sox, who set the record for most losses in the modern era. And yet, new manager Will Venable will be retaining the majority of the coaching staff for the 2025 season. Sure, this could be so that the new skipper has a chance to see the state of affairs close up and make forward-looking decisions at a later date with more hands-on information. It could also be because the White Sox are run like an abandoned Dairy Queen at the bottom of the ocean.
- Garrett Crochet and Luis Robert Jr. are the team’s top two trade candidates this winter, and Jon Morosi has a little nugget on the former.
. @MLB trade market update:
The Cubs and Reds are among the viable candidates to acquire White Sox ace Garrett Crochet.
Of note, the Cubs and White Sox have made 4 trades since 2017, beginning with the José Quintana deal. @MLBNetwork

- The Tigers fit the bill of “up-and-coming contender with designs on adding a veteran” this winter, and they’ve been linked to both Alex Bregman and Nolan Arenado, with the latter picking up some steam if sources are to be believed. Obviously, one would require free agency dollars and the other would require prospect capital. Either could represent the first major move under the new front office’s leadership.
Stavenhagen on a potential Tigers Nolan Arenado trade: “This is a little bit more than a hypothetical. This is real, the Tigers have crunched the numbers, I assure you, and they are thinking about this….” https://t.co/Of3TgIHPC6

- And finally, the Royals were the last team without a TV deal for 2025, but no longer — our condolences to fans who will be enduring at least one more season of the FanDuel Sports Network.
Thanks as always for stopping by, and enjoy your Saturday!
