We finally have some legitimate rumors!
The Past Week on Twinkie Town:
- With MLB Pipeline releasing their top 100 prospect list on Friday, Ben Jones takes a look at the top two prospects in the Twins organization, Walker Jenkins and Emmanuel Rodriguez.
- For every glass half full, there is a glass half empty perspective and Zach Koenig warns against the dangers of trusting too much in prospects.
- Ben Jones provides an update on the new Twins.TV service.
- As we await the start of the new baseball season, Matt Monitto continues in his Out of the Park playthrough with Twins draft picks.
- James Fillmore talks about the impact of the movie Bull Durham in a review of “The Church of Baseball: The Making of Bull Durham.”
Elsewhere in Twins Territory:
- Dan Hayes and Dennis Lin at The Athletic report that the Twins and Padres are trying to work out a trade that may involve Christian Vazquez and ace Dylan Cease ($).
- The Twins announced that third baseman Corey Koskie will be inducted into the Twins Hall of Fame this year. Koskie played for the Twins from 1998 and 2004, racking up 124 homers, 506 RBI, and a .275 average. His career was unfortunately cut short by injuries, but despite that, he is also a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
- Theo Tollefson at Zone Coverage looks forward to the 2025 season for the St. Paul Saints.
In the World of Baseball:
- As mentioned earlier, MLB Pipeline released their top 100 prospect rankings. The Twins on the list include Walker Jenkins (3), Emmanuel Rodriguez (37), and Luke Keaschall (61). Roki Sasaki (predictably) is at the top of the list.
- The 2025 Hall of Fame inductees were announced, which included Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathai, and Billy Wagner. Suzuki was one vote shy of a unanimous selection and Steve Buckley at The Athletic has a good article about why we should care about it. ($)
- Twins nemesis CC Sabathia had a good laugh about being inducted with Ichiro and how the longtime Seattle outfielder had taken away his opportunity at the 2001 AL Rookie of the Year award.
