It’s almost a wrap on the 2024 season.

In the World of Baseball:
- The Dodgers currently lead the Yankees 2-0 in the World Series. Only 10 teams in MLB history have come back from a 2-0 deficit in the World Series. Granted, four of those teams were the Yankees.
- From Noah Furtado at The Athletic: Joe Davis, who is now doing play-by-play of the World Series for FOX, reflects on his call of Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam in Game 1. ($)
- Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals was awarded the Roberto Clemente Award for his work in providing food and kitchen supplies to families in his home country of Venezuela, as well as free gear and clinics for children who participate in his baseball youth league. He also has provided funds for the Carlos Fortuna Foundation, which honors Fortuna, a former minor league in the Kansas City organization who died of liver cancer. The foundation helps foster parental education in low-income communities in Latin America. Perez has also provided funds to support his now-home, Kansas City, including donating to the city’s Urban Youth Academy, local ALS and childhood cancer organizations, covering the cost of cleft lip surgery for kids, and local police.
