Last night, the Twins lost an overwhelming winnable game for, conservatively, the 64th time this season. The good news is that Pablo Lopez is on the mound today. The bad news is that they’ll be facing Cole Ragans, one of the filthiest lefties in the game which will remove Matt Wallner from the lineup. Wallner, famously, is they only key offensive contributor who came ready to play this season.
Injuries to Royce Lewis and Brooks Lee and a rare off day for Willi Castro leaves Edouard Julien and Trevor Larnach as the sacrificial lefties. We can only hope their sacrifice is not in vain.
Lineups!
Twins
P: Pablo Lopez
- Byron Buxton, CF (.555 OPS)
- Ryan Jeffers, C (.541)
- Trevor Larnach, LF (.564)
- Carlos Correa, SS (.318)
- Jose Miranda, 3B (.448)
- Ty France, 1B (.520)
- Edouard Julien, DH (.433)
- Harrison Bader, RF (.988)
- Mickey Gasper, 2B (.444)
Royals
P: Cole Ragans
- Jonathan India, DH (.770 OPS)
- Bobby Witt Jr., SS (.796)
- Vinnie Pasquantino, 1B (.713)
- Salvador Perez, C (.612)

- Mark Canha, LF (1.116)
- MJ Melendez, RF (.460)
- Maikel Garcia, 3B (.977)

For those of you counting at home, you may notice that the worst OPS in the Royals’ lineup would be the best non-Bader number in the Twins’ starting nine. Surely someone has to hit today.
