MLB (0.5 Unit) Detroit Tigers First 5 Innings ML @ Minnesota Twins (-105; Odds via Caesars): 1:10 PM CT on MNNT
We’re now in a place where the Twins are in jeopardy of getting swept at home by the Tigers. That’s a serious re-ordering of the normal AL Central power structure, but it’s simply the new reality. The Twins should be very concerned about that sweep possibility here because it’s really not a good pitching matchup for them.
I’m focused on the first five innings for that reason, and expect Casey Mize to shine for Detroit today. The Tiger righty can be dominant when he’s on, but doesn’t go deep into games so I want to rely just on him for this bet. The Twins countering with Simeon Woods Richardson does not inspire confidence for anything other than Detroit getting a couple early runs off him, and combining that with another quality start from Mize to cash this early bet.

NBA Utah Jazz @ Minnesota Timberwolves -7.5 First Quarter (-110; Odds via Caesars): 2:30 PM CT on Fanduel Sports North
The Wolves are laying the biggest number on the board of a full NBA slate. Travel back to 2011 and tell that to someone outside of Target Center, just for the laughs. There’s a good reason for it as Utah is resting all the key players from a team that already stinks, while the Wolves need this game for any hope of avoiding the play-in.
It would be wise of the Wolves then to jump all over this G-League starting five right away, then find some rest for the starters late. So that means run Utah out in the first quarter, which they already did by 14 points the last time the Jazz were in town a month ago, and should again with Utah making no effort today.
