NCAA Basketball (1 Unit) Siena Team Total Over 65.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:00 PM CT on ESPN+
Why would Siena, as a sub-.500 team in MAAC play, be favored over a contender for the league title and taking money in the market? It’s simple in my opinion, and it’s an angle that I’ll keep hammering at as long as possible, which is Siena’s offensive prowess at home. The Saints are just different on their home floor, averaging a full 12 points more per game than on the road, and seeing a big boost in their efficiency level as well.
Marist brings an excellent defense and slow pace, but that’s what is holding this number down to a very reachable level given Siena’s home success. And if you need any further proof, know that Siena already cleared this team total on the road against Marist two weeks ago. So with their patented home court boost tonight, I see them continuing their unblemished record of clearing this total in conference home games.
NCAA Basketball (0.5 Unit) Nevada @ San Jose St +7 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on FS1
I’ve never thought of this Nevada team as being any good, but they keep getting a ton of love in the market despite a 2-5 ATS record on the road this season. That creates a good opportunity to fade them in this spot at what is a ridiculous number in my opinion. Plenty of metrics sites share that opinion, with some even having San Jose State as a slight favorite in this game.
But I’ll just take the points with the country’s best cover team, because an 18-5-1 ATS record including 9-2 at home is not something you just leave sitting on the table. This will be a slow-paced game with limited possessions, so catching more than two full possessions presents excellent natural value. And SJSU should be able to close any late gaps with three’s against a very poor perimeter defense for the Wolfpack, so I don’t see this getting away from the Spartans.
