
A look at the weekend ahead
Another busy weekend ahead for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Below is the weekend schedule and how you can catch the action.
Friday February 21st:
Softball vs Fresno State/ Missouri Noon / 2:30 PM FloCollege
The 2-7 Gophers head to California for the Mary Nutter Classic this weekend and another weekend of very stiff competition. That kicks off at Noon when Minnesota plays Fresno State who enters the weekend 5-4. After that game the Gophers will head immediately back to the field and play SEC opponent Missouri who is 6-5 headed into the weekend. All games this weekend will stream on FloCollege for a fee.
Baseball vs Oklahoma Noon D1Baseball.com
The Gopher baseball team will face a stiff task at the 2025 Karbach Round Rock Classic in Texas. Minnesota’s easiest game of the weekend will be their opener on Friday when they face the Oklahoma Sooners. Minnesota went 1-2 to open the season at Houston while Oklahoma is 3-0 after an opening weekend of Lehigh. The game will stream on D1Baseball.com for a fee.
Indoor Track Snowshoe Open 2 PM
The Gopher indoor track and field team will host their final home meet of the season in the Snowshoe Open at 2 PM Friday afternoon. It will be the final regular season meet for the Gophers before the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis next weekend. No stream is available.
Swim and Dive @ Big Ten Women’s Championships, Columbus, OH 4:30PM
The third day of the Big Ten Women’s Swim and Dive Championships will take place in Columbus, Ohio. Prelims took place Friday morning and seven different event finals will begin at 4:30 PM. They are: 100 Butterfly, 400 Individual Medley, 200 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke, Three-Meter Diving Finals, 400 Medley Relay. The action will stream on B1G+.
Women’s Hockey vs #6 UMD 6 PM B1G+
The #4 ranked Gopher women’s hockey team closes out the regular season with a huge series against #6 Minnesota-Duluth at Rider Arena. Our full preview is HERE. Face off is set for 6 PM on B1G+.
Men’s Hockey vs #6/7 Ohio State 7 PM Fox9
The Gopher men also have a huge hockey series this weekend as Ohio State comes into Mariucci Arena with second place in the conference on the line. Our full weekend preview is HERE. Faceoff is set for 7 PM and will air live on Fox 9 in Minnesota and stream via B1G+.
Saturday February 22nd:
Baseball vs #2 Virginia Noon D1Baseball.com
The Gopher baseball team will have their toughest task of the season in game two of the Round Rock Classic when they face the #2 ranked Virginia Cavaliers. Their one loss on the season game to Michigan in 11 innings last Friday. First pitch is schedued for Noon and will air on D1Baseball.com for a fee.
Men’s Basketball vs Penn State 1 PM Big Ten Network
After a pair of huge wins in California for the Gopher men’s basketball team they now return home and need to avoid a let down game as they play the worst team in the Big Ten in Penn State on Saturday. Minnesota needs to continue to pick up wins to ensure their spot in the Big Ten Basketball Tournament, and with another upset or two could see themselves earning a first round bye. Tip is set for 1 PM and will air on Big Ten Network.
Women’s Hockey vs #6 UMD 2 PM B1G+
Game two of the series between the Gophers and Bulldogs is set for a 2 PM faceoff. Minnesota will honor their nine seniors after the game. The game will stream on B1G+.
Softball vs #14 Duke/ #7 Tennessee 2 PM/ 4:30PM FloCollege
The Gophers third game of the weekend will be a reunion of sorts. Minnesota will face #14 Duke and former teammate Jess Oakland. The 2024 Big Ten Player of the Year transferred to the Blue Devils after the fall semester and will face her former team for the first time. Their task gets even tougher in their second game of the day where they will face #7 Tennessee. Both games will stream for a fee via FloCollege.
Gymnastics vs #20 Nebraska 4 PM B1G+
The #13 ranked Gophers gymnastics team hosts their final Big Ten home meet of the season when #20 Nebraska comes to town. Despite their #20 rank the Cornhuskers are 2-9 and just 1-4 in Big Ten action this season, so it should be a win for the Gophers if they execute. Action kicks off at 4 PM and will stream on B1G+.
Swim and Dive @ Big Ten Women’s Championships, Columbus, OH 4:30PM
The final day of the Big Ten Women’s Swim and Dive Championships is on Saturday Finals again begin at 4:30 and will include the 1,650 Freestyle (last heat of timed finals), 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, Platform Diving Final, 400 Freestyle Relay. The action will stream on B1G+.
Men’s Hockey vs #6/7 Ohio State 5 PM Fox 9/ B1G+
The Gophers close out their home regular season schedule with a Senior night matchup against the Buckeyes on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 5 PM and will air on Fox9 and stream via B1G+.
Sunday February 23:
Women’s Golf @ Westbrook Invitational, Peoria, Arizona 10:30 AM
The Gopher women’s golf team will open play in the Westbrook Invitational hosted by Wisconsin on Sunday morning at the Westbrook Village GC. The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday and finish with 18 on Monday. Live scoring is available HERE.
Softball vs Long Beach State 11:30 AM
The Gophers close out the Mary Nutter Classic against Long Beach State on Sunday morning. First pitch is set for 11:3 AM and will stream for a fee on FloCollege.
Baseball vs #7 Oregon State Noon
The Gophers close out the Round Rock Classic by facing their second top ten ranked opponent of the weekend. Minnesota closes out the tournament with a matchup against 7th ranked Oregon State. It’s a rematch of the teams classic 2018 NCAA Super Regional. First pitch is scheduled for Noon and will stream for a fee on d1baseball.com
