How do you watch the Gophers v Maryland and 3 keys to a Minnesota win
Back-to-back wins for the Gophers and a bye week before they face the Terrapins. Can they make it three in a row?
How to Watch
TV: FS1
Time: 2:30
Stream: FoxSports.com
Will the real Maryland please stand up? Losing games at home to Michigan State and Northwestern are not great. But coming from behind to beat USC was unexpected. Who are the Gophers going to see on Saturday, and can they get a win?
3 KEYS
- Stop the passing game – Billy Edwards Jr is the Big Ten’s leading passer (in passing yards from scrimmage) and as he goes, so goes the Terps. He will complete passes and rack up yards, but the Gopher defense needs to keep him to 250 yards and generate a turnover or two.
- Run the ball – Maryland actually gives up a lot of passing yards per game and has been solid against the run. But I don’t like our chances if this game turns into a shootout. Run the ball, play physical and own the line of scrimmage.
- Have some fun – I want to see this team get rolling, have some fun and see that translate to the fans. Get on a roll with some enthusiasm and confidence.
OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH
- #10 WR – Tai Felton – I’ve mentioned Edwards Jr., but Felton is his top target. A 6’2” senior who leads the Big Ten in receptions and receiving yards.
- #13 DB – Glendon Miller – A hybrid defensive back for the Terps who has 4 picks this season and is positioning himself to be drafted.
PREDICTION
Both of these teams are near the top of the Big Ten in passing while both have struggled to run the ball. A shootout is not what the Gophers are made for, so being the one team to establish a ground attack is imperative.
I think the bye week was good for the program and I predict the offensive line has their best game of the season. The Gophers slowly pull away and win with another Koi Perich 4th quarter interception.
Minnesota – 31
Maryland – 21
