The Gophers add to their rotation at defensive tackle
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are bringing back both starting defensive tackles Jalen Logan-Redding and Deven Eastern next season but need to shore up the rotation behind them. Stony Brook transfer defensive tackle Rushawn Lawrence will likely be part of that rotation after committing to head coach P.J. Fleck and co. on Monday.
He chose Minnesota over offers from Oklahoma, Houston, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Washington State, and others. Lawrence has one year of eligibility remaining.
He recorded 42 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, one interception, and one pass break-up this season, earning him First-Team All-CAA honors
