The Gophers get help at the linebacker position
Oklahoma State linebacker Jeff Roberson committed to transferring to Minnesota late Thursday night, choosing the Golden Gophers over the Oklahoma Sooners.
Roberson had 58 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception, and one pass break-up last season. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Minnesota is losing All-Big Ten linebacker Cody Lindenberg to the NFL this offseason. Maverick Baranowski figures to have one starting spot locked down, so there will be a competition between Roberson, Devon Williams, Joey Gerlach, and perhaps even Mason Carrier for the other spot.
