Navarro College DE Eddy Toussom to transfer to Minnesota

The Gophers unearth a diamond in the rough

Navarro College edge rusher Eddy Toussom announced Sunday after his official visit that he will be transferring to Minnesota. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Toussom finished this season with 57 total tackles, a team-leading 15 tackles for loss, a team-leading eight sacks, six pass break-ups, and one fumble recovery. He figures to slot into the rush end position at Minnesota, where the Gophers return Danny Striggow next year. Depth behind Striggow is an issue, as primary back-up Chris Collins graduates and reserves Lucas Finnessy and Hayden Schwartz have yet to see meaningful game snaps.
