We have one believer in our ranks
The Minnesota Golden Gophers (6-4) close out their home schedule with a Senior Day matchup against the No. 4-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (9-1) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CST.
The game will air on CBS.
This Week’s Thoughts:
GopherNation: Do we think that our chances improve or go down if Indiana wins? We want Penn State focused on the coming weeks, not Saturday afternoon at The Bank.
I like the fact that we are coming off a bye, but this is still Penn State’s game to lose.
gopherguy05: I wish we were talking 2019 upset here, but I just don’t think this team is complete enough to do it. Our offensive line is going to need to play the game of their lives for us to stay in it, and nothing I’ve seen as of yet gives me any hope that will happen.
Blake: I expect many fans are bracing for a blowout after the deflating loss to Rutgers, but I believe Minnesota will be ready to play coming off the bye week. Unfortunately, this is a very good Penn State team and a tough matchup for the Gophers’ offensive line against the best defense Minnesota has played all season. I think the Gophers will be competitive but a couple second half scores will make the final score look uglier than the actual game.
GoAUpher:
zipsofakron: Minnesota is 2-2 in it’s last four games against Penn State and 4-2 in their last six games at home in the series.
The last time Minnesota was beaten by more than 12 points by Penn State at home was 1994. They play the Nittany Lions close at home, almost exclusively.
Ustreet: Penn State is weird to me because I think they may actually be a bad team relative to potential but also should easily handle Minnesota. This outcome strikes me as the funniest bad outcome.
mowe0018: Not sure there is a single data point from the P.J. Fleck era that points to us winning this game. Though PSU is a bit of a paper tiger…. er… lion this year if you ask me.
WhiteSpeedReceiver: This is going to hurt.
