Crocker-Johnson is playing for his third school in three seasons and will have two more years of eligibility. But here is how he’ll fit at Minnesota.
Jaylen Crocker-Johnson
Ht: 6’8”
Wt: 230
Hometown: San Antonio, TX
Out of high school, Johnson had a few offers from low-major schools and chose Little Rock for his freshman season. While playing for the Trojans, he started 33 games and averaged 9.1 points per game as a freshman and 5.3 rebounds.
He then transferred to Colorado State and was a key player for the team that won the Mountain West tournament and upset Memphis in the NCAA Tournament. With the Rams he was 4th on the team with 9 points per game and 2nd with 4.4 rebounds. It is also worth noting that Johnson was a 76% free throw shooter.
I would expect that he is coming to Minnesota with the expectation to be a starting forward. He’ll bring a strong, 6’8” body that is solid defensively and will be a contributor offensively.
