Apart from a 2-week stretch when the Bruins lost four straight, they have been an excellent team this year. Since that stretch, when coach Mike Cronin made headlines by calling out his players in the media, his team has gone 8-1. They have been great when they play in the Pacific time zone, and this one is going to be a challenge for the Gophers.
KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN
Take care of the ball! – The Bruins are the 2nd best team in the country at forcing turnovers. Turnovers are not typically a problem for the Gophers but expect a lot of pressure.
Contain Tyler Bilodeau – The Bruins forward is a 14 points per game scorer and a key cog in their offense. Not a dynamic player, but he is lethal.
Be the tougher team – Let’s be honest, the Gophers are winning when they are just tougher than their opponent. It is not because we are more talented and it is not because we are out-executing them. We play our style, we play with toughness and lately we have been finding ways to win.
PREDICTION
UCLA is a better team and I was hoping & praying that we would go 1-1 on this road trip.
I’m hoping to see a competitive game, I expect that Garcia will have a bounce-back game after really struggling in the USC win. But this will be another win for the Bruins.
