One prominent college basketball insider projects Ohio State to land a major transfer commitment before the 2023-24 season.
247Sports’ Travis Barnham projects Minnesota forward Jamison Battle to join Chris Holtmann’s Buckeye program at some point this offseason.
Battle, a four-star transfer in this year’s pool, spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with George Washington before transferring to Minnesota in 2021.
The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 17.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his first season with the Golden Gophers. But with the addition of North Carolina transfer Dawson Garcia this past season, Battle’s production dropped to 12.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 2022-23.
Battle entered this year’s transfer portal on March 16. He’s since heard from a long list of schools, including Arkansas, Cincinnati, Clemson, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Santa Clara, Utah, Wake Forest, Xavier and Villanova, per 247Sports.
Battle has one more season of remaining collegiate eligibility.
