Minnesota’s quarterback room is down to three scholarship quarterbacks.
It was reported earlier this week that Minnesota quarterback Jacob Knuth would enter the NCAA transfer portal. He would later confirm his departure.
Knuth thanked Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck and the rest of the staff in a heartfelt statement.
“After many prayers and difficult conversations, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility remaining,” Knuth wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to Coach Fleck, the entire coaching staff, and my teammates for my time at Minnesota-I’m forever grateful.”

Knuth was the No. 52 quarterback from the 2022 class. He received offers from Air Force, Army, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State and Minnesota.
Landing spots for Knuth haven’t emerged yet.
Minnesota, on the other hand, will lean on Athan Kaliakmanis and Cole Kramer at quarterback. The former had 946 passing yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions during the 2022 season.
