The Gophers get much-needed offensive line help
The offensive line was a sore spot for the Minnesota Golden Gophers all season long, and head coach P.J. Fleck and offensive line coach Brian Callahan have their work cut out for them this offseason with at least three starters walking out the door. But they’ve definitely helped themselves this month, digging into the transfer portal and producing three offensive lineman, with Kentucky’s Dylan Ray the latest to grab an oar.
He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Blessed to announce I have committed to the University of Minnesota for my final year of eligibility! 〽️ #RTB pic.twitter.com/oYlzTcc0lu

Ray spent the first two years of his college career at West Virginia, where he redshirted as a true freshman in 2021 and played 32 offensive snaps in 2022. He then transferred to Kentucky and made 10 starts for the Wildcats in 2023, including nine at left guard and one at right guard. This season, Ray played in all 12 games and made two starts at left guard.
With the additions of Ray, UCF’s Marcellus Marshall, and Washington’s Kahlee Tafai, Callahan has reshaped his offensive line room for next season. Much like Marshall, Ray provides experience and versatility, giving Callahan the flexibility to put the best five linemen on the field.
