The Hoosiers’ leading rusher is joining the Gophers
247Sports’ Ryan Burns is reporting that Indiana running back Trent Howland has committed to transferring to Minnesota. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Howland was the Hoosiers’ leading rusher this season with 75 carries for 354 rushing yards and two touchdowns. With true freshman Darius Taylor the only scholarship running back on the current roster confirmed to be returning next season, head coach P.J. Fleck and co. went looking in the transfer portal to rebuild their running backs room. Howland should provide much-needed depth and help Taylor carry the load next year. High school recruits Jaydon Wright and Ohifame Ijeboi are expected to enroll in the spring after signing their letters of intent this month.
