Produced by an in-state powerhouse
Recruiting kicked back into gear this week with a Wednesday night verbal commitment from in-state athlete Ethan Stendel. The Caledonia product camped with the Golden Gophers and committed on the spot after head coach P.J. Fleck extended a scholarship offer.
After a great camp and a conversation with @Coach_Fleck I’m exited to announce that I have received an offer from @GopherFootball, and after that’s said I’m excited to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota!!! pic.twitter.com/wxzvBws54V

Scouting Report
It is difficult to evaluate Stendel’s potential at the college level considering we don’t yet know which position he will be playing. He played quarterback last year for the powerhouse program at Caledonia, leading the Warriors to a 10-1 record and a postseason berth. Stendel threw for 1,482 passing yards and 12 touchdowns with three interceptions, while rushing for 382 yards and 10 touchdowns. We’ll have to trust whatever Fleck and co. saw at camp.
