How do you watch the Gophers at Rutgers and 3 keys to a Minnesota win
So many dramatic storylines in this game, but all that matters is going 1-0 in Rutgers week. Can the Gophers extend their winning streak to five games?
How to Watch
TV: NBC
Time: 11:00
Stream: Peacock
Twot teams who have been going in opposite directions over the last month. Rutgers started the season going 4-0 and looking to be an improved team. But they have gone 0-4 since, looking sloppy on both sides of the ball. They have had their bye week to get things figured out so we shouldn’t be too sure of which team we are going to see this week.
3 KEYS
- Make hay on offense – The Rutgers defense gives up a LOT of yards. Currently they are 2nd to last in the Big Ten in yards allowed, and if you look at some of their recent games they are giving up scoring drives with big chunks.
- Get pressure on Kaliakmanis – This Rutgers offensive line gave up 5 sacks to USC and 4 sacks by Nebraska in this current losing streak. Get pressure on Athan Kaliakmanis and ideally the pressure results in turnovers.
- Keep improving that OL – It has been slowly getting better at both pass protection and run blocking, it needs to still get better.
OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH
- #5 RB – Kyle Monangai – Kyle Monangai is a stud and is the 2nd leading rusher in the Big Ten. Just hoping we avoid a Kaleb Johnson situation.
- #6 LB – Shaquan Loyal – The DB is racking up tackles for the Scarlet Knights while also leading the team with 2 picks and 4 passes defensed.
PREDICTION
I’m really liking how we are playing and improving. Rutgers is going the other direction, but this by week has me concerned.
A prediction? I think the Gophers win and the more I think about it, the more I think Kaliakmanis melts down while the Gophers get on a huge roll.
Minnesota – 31
Rutgers – 13
