As we hit the final stretch of the season, Minnesota heads to Lincoln to take on Fred Hoiberg’s Cornhuskers.
The good news is that this Gopher squad has played much better on the road than they have at home. They’ve won three consecutive road games and are 4-4 on the road in conference games.
The bad news is that Minnesota has not won in Lincoln since February of 2012. It just never happens.
Can Ben Johnson and his boys pull off this road win?
KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN
Brice Williams – Remember when I was saying how the Gophers need to contain Nick Martinelli of Northwestern and he went off for 29? Well Williams is a 19 point per game scorer and they have to do a better job of containing him.
Two good halves from Patterson – I love the Lu’Cye has improved throughout the season and has clearly gained some confidence. But he tends to have one great half and one where he is non-existent. This may be a contributing factor why we have lengthy stretches of no offense.
Rebound – Give us one thing where we gain an advantage. This is not necessarily a situation where I’m looking at stats and see that Nebraska is good or bad in this area. Just make it happen, box out, get some offensive rebounds and gain an advantage.
PREDICTION
Nope, not going to pick Minnesota to win. We suck in Lincoln and I am back to having no confidence in this team.
Minnesota – 70
Nebraska – 77
