Teammates on USA’s 2024 Olympics Avengers team, Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards, hold each other in high regard. In what could be termed a changing of the guard for the future, the two All-Stars never hesitate to display their competitive sides, often trash-talking as well.
However, there exists a mutual admiration for other’s talents and skill sets. During a recent interview with Rachel Nichols of All the Smoke Productions, Ant-Man revealed how the Chef impacted his game significantly during their stint in Paris.
When asked which Olympic teammate influenced him most, the 23-year-old replied the following.
“I’d say Steph. Playing without the ball, running around, cutting, setting screens, getting guys open. Steph did it for the whole Olympics, and I definitely try to mimic that.”
Shooting an impressive 42.7% from the three-point line, Edwards seems to have certainly taken a page from Curry’s book.
Stephen Curry’s Ultimate Praise for Anthony Edwards
Playing the Warriors back-to-back over the span of three days, the Timberwolves were 1-1 against the home team. Ant-Man was nothing short of spectacular, averaging 28.5 PPG, 7.5 APG, and 4.5 RPG on 56.4% shooting from the field, including 47.4% from the three-point line in the two games against the Dubs.
Posting a game-high 30 points in their second meeting of the season, Curry praised Edwards. The four-time champion believed the league was in good hands going forward, applauding the Wolves guard, saying the following.
“He can do everything on the court. He’s shooting the ball at a high level now. He’s got that dog in him (pun intended, Georgia), and he just loves hooping. I got to feel that energy all summer and what he brought to Team USA. He talks trash, he’s in every moment and he’s a guy that the league’s in great hands for the next 15 years with him. Just being who he is.”

Currently, 12-11, the T-Wolves underwent some significant changes during the offseason, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns being traded in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Though they haven’t been the most consistent, Coach Chris Finch and Co. seem to have found their groove off-late. A top 5 defensive team with a rating of 108.2, Minnesota should now look to focus on its offensive game.
Anthony Edwards a Superstar in the Making
It won’t be wrong to describe Ant-Man as a Swiss Army Knife Player, looking at his well-rounded arsenal. The first pick in the 2020 draft has only gotten better with each season, exhibiting superstar-like qualities, be it his box office appeal or theatrics both on and off the court.
The University of Georgia alumnus has no fear, not hesitating to talk smack to the likes of Kevin Durant as well, something we had witnessed during their playoff matchup. While many believe Edwards should exercise a little caution being a public figure, he continues to speak his mind.
Currently, in the first season of his five-year rookie extension, Edwards holds the keys to the Timberwolves franchise, especially with KAT gone. Hence, it will be interesting to see if the 6’4″ guard can continue his superstar-level play.
