The NBA has rescinded the technical foul that Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards received on Friday night. That means Edwards will be eligible to play in the Wolves final game on Sunday. That has importance, as Minnesota is still fighting for playoff position in the Western Conference. Edwards had received his 18th technical foul in the Wolves win on Friday. That would have seen him serve a second suspension due to technical fouls. Players are suspended on their 16th technical foul, then ever other technical foul after that. Then the playoffs start, the technical foul counts from the regular season are cleared. That means Edwards should be fine to play in any upcoming playoff games for Minnesota.

Anthony Edwards: “We got cussed out at halftime, especially myself, about our effort on defense.”
He added: “Mental mistakes I shouldn’t be making with five years of experience in the league, I shouldn’t be making those game plan mistakes, so I got to be better.” – 1:33 AM

Anthony Edwards, on his ability to rise to the moment in games like this: “Every game we play, 82 games, is a big game. But tonight was a must win pretty much. I just had that sense, man, and when I get that sense it’s ugly for anybody.” – 12:46 AM

More on this storyline
Anthony Edwards said he reacted with “What was the F-in foul?” and that’s what drew the tech. He and Ray Acosta, who he said he has a good relationship with, talked it out afterward. He and Finch are hopeful the league rescinds it upon review. Edwards: “I’m praying they rescind it. I don’t feel like it should’ve been a tech, but me and Ray got a good relationship. We talked it out after the fact. But I don’t think I deserved a tech for just that little gesture.” -via Bluesky / April 12, 2025
Chris Hine: Anthony Edwards just picked up a technical foul. He will be suspended for Sunday’s game, assuming it’s not rescinded. -via Bluesky / April 11, 2025
