What Joe Ingles Brings To the Timberwolves
Ingles is an elite sharpshooter and has been since he entered the league. In his 10-year career, Ingles has shot 38% or better from three in all but two seasons. Ingles was lights out from deep for the Orlando Magic last season connecting on 43% of his shots from deep. Ingles is a good connecter on offense bringing secondary playmaking. At 6’9 Ingles has positional size and will help keep Minnesota’s lineups jumbo-sized at all times.
Besides his on-the-court production, Ingles is a great locker-room guy who brings good vibes anywhere. Former teammates have spoken highly of Ingles’s leadership skills. Jalen Suggs made it a point to say how much Ingles helped the young Magic mature this season while still having fun in the moment.
Familiar Faces
Ingles played his first eight seasons in Utah, sharing the court with four-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley. The three alongside Donovan Mitchell regularly made the postseason even advancing to the semi-finals once in the 2020/21 playoffs. Ingles’s time in Utah ended following the 2021/22 season where he tore his ACL and played just 43 games.
Still productive
Following tearing his ACL Ingles knew he would make a comeback and still be productive. Ingles after rehabbing signed a year-one deal with the Milwaukee Bucks where he was a solid rotational player. He spent last season with the Magic where he provided much-needed shooting off the bench for the young playoff team. Ingles has made the postseason every year he has been healthy since 2017. Now after signing with the title conteding Timberwolves as a free agent Ingles seems like a lock to make the playoffs for the eighth time in a row.
