The Minnesota Lynx revealed their full season schedule which includes both a season opener and home opener against the Minnesota native, and soon-to-be number one overall draft pick, Paige Bueckers.
It’s that time of the year. The WNBA have been releasing their schedules in December the past few seasons so earlier this week, we got a look at what to expect for the Minnesota Lynx.
The official team account dropped this creatively hilarious schedule release video on social media. For those of you who may not have followed closely last season, we encourage you to give this a few watches to see how they did against the other 11 teams.

Peep the 2:07 mark.
To help you prepare for next season, we’ve highlighted some of the key matchups and important stretches for the Lynx in their quest to win championship number five.
Mark Your Calendars
Friday, May 16th @ 6:30pm — Welcoming Paige Bueckers
The 2025 WNBA season will open with a marquee matchup on national TV. The soon-to-be number one overall draft pick, Paige Bueckers, will make her debut with the Dallas Wings against the team she grew up watching. There will be a lot of eyeballs on this game and for good reason.
Wednesday, May 21st vs 7:00pm — Welcoming Paige Bueckers Home
Why Paige Bueckers when you can Pair Bueckers? Sorry. After their season opener in Dallas, they make a quick pitstop at Los Angeles before coming back to Target Center for their home opener against Bueckers. It’ll be the second time in a week that the Wings and Lynx play each other. The Hopkins native will surely draw a huge crowd to an already lively home arena.
Tuesday, June 17th vs 7:00pm — MVP and DPOY Showdown
The unanimous MVP of the WNBA, A’ja Wilson, will take the Target Center floor five weeks into the season. The Las Vegas Aces will come to Minnesota and matchup against Napheesa Collier, who was the runner-up in MVP voting. Conversely, Collier won her first Defensive Player of the Year award, edging out the runner-up, Wilson. It’s always a treat when these two meet on the hardwood.
Saturday, July 5th vs 7:00pm — Minnesota Hosts the Valkyries
This historic WNBA season will be the first for the San Francisco Valkyrie. Right after July 4th, they will play their first game in Minnesota, though the Lynx will technically get their first look at them a month earlier at their home court. Will the Valkyrie roster any of the current/former Lynx players after the expansion draft and free agency? It’s possible. Either way, hopefully fans will give them a taste of what the Target Center crowd brings.
Sunday, July 6th vs 6:00pm — Angel Reese in the Twin Cities
Angel Reese is one of the most popular players in the WNBA and put up historic numbers in her rookie campaign. Reese snagged a Rookie of the Year vote at the end of the season, upsetting Caitlin Clark from winning the award unanimously. Perhaps the biggest story of this game will (continue to) be how President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach traded out of a position to draft Reese in the 2024 WNBA draft.
Wednesday, July 30th vs 7:00pm — 2024 Finals Rematch
This is the one we’ve all been waiting for. The Lynx have been itching for the rematch against the New York Liberty ever since game five of the WNBA finals was lost stolen in excruciating fashion. They’ve likely been chomping at the bit to get their revenge so they’ll have their first opportunity after the halfway point of the season at Target Center.
Sunday, August 24th vs 6:00pm — Caitlin Clark Visits Target Center
The reigning Rookie of the Year will only pay one visit to Minneapolis this season, as things start to wind down. Caitlin Clark certain packs the arenas so this will be a marquee game that you would likely want to get tickets for as soon as possible.
Key Stretches
Battle Testing — July 25-August 2
The second half of the Lynx season appears to be much tougher than the first half. That begins after All-Star Weekend where Minnesota will begin a four-game homestand, the longest of the season. They’ll kick it off with the Chicago Sky, but the highlight will be a string of playoff teams in the Las Vegas Aces, Atlanta Dream, and then the New York Liberty. If those three matchups at home isn’t tough enough, they’ll hit the road to visit the Aces again.
New York, New York, New York? — August 10-19
That’s right. In the span of 10 days, the Lynx play the Liberty three times. Twice on the road sandwiching a home contest. A lot can happen between now and August, but a mini best-of-three series could be another precursor to what’s to come in the WNBA finals again. It’ll certainly be an important measuring stick as both teams begin gearing up for the postseason just weeks later. This three game stretch also brings us directly into…
Tough Week-long Road Trip — August 19-22
Though this won’t be the longest road trip of the season for the Lynx (They have a four-game long trip early July that spans six days), it will likely be the toughest one of the season. Minnesota will have three games in three cities in the span of four nights, all against 2024 playoff teams. It begins with the second and final regular season matchup against the defending champion Liberty before they fly south to visit the Dream, then wrap things up on a back-to-back at the always raucous Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Fever.
