“Thanks a lot, Anthony,” Johnson told Kimmel. “I think he should’ve asked somebody, maybe his father or his grandfather about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. J., Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Clyde Drexler, all these guys, Dominique Wilkins. We had some of the most dominant players that’s ever played. … Also, too, you might want to talk trash when you’ve won something. You know, if this came from some of the guys who just won on the Celtic team, OK, you might want to look at it. But you haven’t won anything. If I’m Anthony Edwards, I’m concerned about the Dallas Mavericks, about OKC, about Boston, about all these great teams. … Concentrate, because you got beat by the Mavericks. You didn’t make it to the championship. So I’m concentrating on that instead of what happened in a time you wasn’t born.”

Lastly, Richardson also spoke glowingly of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards. “Seeing Anthony Edwards play is reminiscent of my era of basketball in the early 2000’s,” he tells Scoop B Radio. “He plays hard on both ends of the floor; he plays with a lot of pride and a lot of passion and you can tell every time that he’s on the court he genuinely loves basketball and it’s good to see guys play like that all the time. I’m excited to continue to see him grow and have a healthy future and have a healthy career. I think that he’s going to be an amazing player in this league.” -via ScoopB.com / September 26, 2024
Chris Finch: Offensively, when I look at tweaks to our identity, I think we can re-establish some better chemistry between KAT (Karl-Anthony Towns) and Ant (Anthony Edwards). I think we can maybe give the ball to Jaden (McDaniels) a little bit more. At times I’ve been reluctant to do that – not because of his ability, more that, we’ve got a lot going on. -via Minnesota Post / September 25, 2024
Chris Finch: I think Rudy (Gobert) has done a better job of not intentionally collapsing the spacing in the paint by looking for the ball all the time. It is chicken-and-egg thing: The more Ant can find him in the flow and on the drive, the more patient with spacing Rudy will be and the more that will open up the floor for Ant. But you’ve got to make them (the defenses) pay when they help (off of Rudy to go to Ant). -via Minnesota Post / September 25, 2024
