Donte DiVincenzo: “You don’t know Rudy until you play with him. Rudy is the anchor of our defense, and a lot of stuff revolves around him. But to your point about his approach, Rudy’s approach is unmatched — daily. His preparation, his commitment to his body, getting ready for a game — it’s really cool to see that. And then, when you’re on the court with him, you don’t realize how big he is. I threw a couple of lobs to him already early in the season, and I thought, ‘There’s no way he’s going to catch it.’ But he goes up and brings it down. It’s little things like feeling him out and knowing how to make the game easy for him. If you make it easy for him, he’ll make it easy for you on the defensive end. That’s what I’ve learned playing with him.”

More on this storyline
Julius Randle decided the NBA Sundays affair with a buzzer-beating three-pointer to highlight a 35-point display. “That’s amazing for him. He works really hard. We trust him in those moments,” said Gobert, “We know he is capable of making tough and clutch shots. He’s done it in his whole career. Just another weapon for us.” -via EuroHoops.net / November 18, 2024
Jon Krawczynski: Rudy Gobert on being pulled late before the last defensive possession: “I’m pretty good on that end of the floor, and I live for those moments. It’s what I do best. I was frustrated for sure, but decisions. Coach made decisions and we’re living with that.” -via x.com / November 11, 2024
Jon Krawczynski: I’m expecting Donte DiVincenzo to play today after being listed as questionable with back spasms. -via Bluesky / November 17, 2024
Donte DiVincenzo: ‘You don’t expect it at that time. Obviously everything’s kind of like around free agency or around the deadline so you’re just getting ready for the season and like you said, family set on in, everybody’s kind of planning what trips they’re going on and when your family coming to games and then boom, it happens. I think the toughest thing for us was I when I came out here, when the trade was official, we left like the day after or something to go to Palm Springs. So like I had my family come out here and I was like ‘hey um I’m leaving tomorrow’. So like wait you’re dropping us in Minnesota like unfamiliar with everything and then you’re just bouncing for a week? So that’s the hardest thing that people don’t understand about the NBA.’ -via YouTube / November 14, 2024
DiVincenzo was candid about the situation, citing his experience with large changes in his career and crediting Anthony Edwards for making him feel welcome before he even arrived. “You think about all the trade situations, I’ve been traded before so like I couldn’t ask for a better trade situation to go to. You’re going to a team that’s a contender, you’re going to a team that you were looking at in free agency, and you’re going to a team that has a stud that’s young,” said DiVincenzo. “Just going bonkers and like the energy that [Anthony Edwards] gives to the organization, you see it from the outside, but when you’re here, [Edwards] makes coming to work everyday just so enjoyable and that’s something that’s very, very, very fun.” -via Clutch Points / November 13, 2024
