Minnesota Lynx POBO and Head Coach Cheryl Reeve honored for her excellence and inspiration of girl-identifying youth.
The Minnesota Lynx announced today that their Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations, Cheryl Reeve, received the 2025 DreamMaker Award. Per the official press release statement, this is what the award symbolizes;
The Ann Bancroft Foundation (ABF) supports Minnesota girl-identifying youth to imagine something bigger and pursue it with confidence. Through grants, mentorship and storytelling, ABF equips girls with the resources and encouragement to discover their strength and achieve their dreams.
For over a decade, the Ann Bancroft Foundation has recognized individuals and organizations that inspire and dare to dream of endless possibilities for women, girls, and the broader community. Through the DreamMaker Award, the foundation honors Ann Bancroft’s enduring passion for helping others achieve their dreams by embracing risk, pursuing education and seizing opportunities.
The Hall of Famer is most known for the impact she’s had in basketball. Reeve has won four WNBA Coach of the Year awards and two Executive of the Year awards, all of which accompany her six championships and recently earned Olympic gold medal. However, she is just as passionate about her work off the court, if not more. Per the Ann Bancroft Foundation:
“This year, we are proud to celebrate Cheryl Reeve as our 2025 DreamMaker honoree! A trailblazer in professional sports, Coach Reeve’s leadership—both on and off the court—truly embodies our mission. She not only inspires her players but also countless young women and girls who see her living authentically and leading unapologetically without hesitation.”
In addition to this honor, Reeve is being recognized by the State of Minnesota to make April 24, 2025 Cheryl Reeve DreamMaker Day for all of the amazing work she has accomplished. Reeve has long been an advocate for women in the sports arena.

The Lynx continue to be leaders in pushing for equity and advocacy. Another great notch to add to their belt of many. Less than a year ago, Napheesa Collier was honored with the Tamika Catchings Award for growing women’s basketball.
The apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree.
